Member in Good Standing

To establish and maintain your status as a member in good standing (MIGS), which is required by the MHSAA to officiate state playoff contests, you must meet the following requirements:

1. Dues must be paid for current officiating year (September 1 to August 31).

2. Four (4) Member in Good Standing (MIGS) Points must have been earned in the previous officiating year in order to be in good standing.

3. A minimum of two (2) MIGS Points must be earned by attending CAOA meetings.

4. A maximum of two (2) MIGS Points may be earned by accumulating “bonus points”. Bonus points consist of attending CAOA scrimmages, attending the CAOA Banquet, attending other CAOA sponsored events, mentoring a new official, etc. Bonus Points must be approved by the CAOA President and the specific sport director.

5. New CAOA members who earned good standing with an alternate (non CAOA) MHSAA Approved Association will be considered in good standing provided that the member can provide corroboration from his/her previous association.
